glass raccoon

So here is my trashy glass raccoon. I think the photos give it justice. The main reason that the butt if fur is because I didn't measure the glass correctly to the mold so it never filled all the way, hence there being no butt. I had to compensate by making it out of fur and stuffing it with paper towels.

The body of the raccoon is hollow and it was supposed to be filled with light to illuminate it, but the light I had was very BLUE and it was too unnatural and the second light source I had died right before the critique started. Bummerrr! It's ok though, at least the overhead light worked ;)

Besides that, I hope everyone's enjoying themselves as the weather gets colder, brrr!

night of suffering! (and fun)

Fiiiinally finished my wax peice!

The views are the front, back and the sides, and after my casting process I had to melt the wax out, so the last picture is the same foot, fingers, mouths, and noses....except smashed and pancaked! haha

*fingers crossed that the plaster/silica mold caught all the details*

~next step is GLASS!

Here was part of the crew and moi, late-nighting to get those darn molds done and ready!

Seriously, I was at the studio from 6 last night till 8 am this morning. *dead*

It was fun and delirious :)
