Making Rings!

Sorry it's been so long since I've updated!!! I will soon again, like now :)

I've been focusing more on my glass art this semester and I'm just learning how to flamework!
Rings are so fun and I definitely want to start selling them. I actually sold my first one today, but I forgot to scan it :( soooo ya.

I hope this is a good enough excuse for being busy.

THANKS,
Sibi

Barbarella!

This was actually a project from last semester for my sci-fi & fantasy class. Our project was to take any sci-fi film or book and make a poster/book cover for it. I love Barbarella, so I just did this one. I didn't really think about censoring it. Maybe it could be the European version haha.
I know the anatomy is kinda wonky but I spent a lot of time learning to digital color with this.

Yaaa!

Thanks!

Tangram Fashion

This was for my drawing class where we were given an assignment to do whatever we wanted using tangrams. As you can see, I chose a fashion swing and made cute little outfits using tangrams!
I collaged origami paper and inked the figures in.
Each are on 22x30 watercolor paper.

Thaaaanks!

Birdzzz.

This piece is a result of my drawing class. It was an open ended project so I decided to just use some techniques from the semester and also experiment a little more. I got a hold of an Audubon birds book and became inspired instantly. I decided to scan and enlarge his bird images and then xerox transfer them into some crazy mass of birds. I did it in another one using a printing press but this one was my acetone, paper towel, hand-done version. Since the birds were so obscure I played around with some inks and made cool designs around the shapes. It was tons of funnnn!

Color Theory

This project was based on taking the same image and changing the lighting 3 times.

1: computer light
2: natural light
3: candle light

...lots of trial and error, but I think I got decent results :)

Thanks!!

narrative project

Howdy howdy!

Here are some works in progress for my narrative assignment for my drawing class. I think these are supposed to be simple narrative in each separate piece. The men stumbling upon the head of a friendly monster and the monks playing psychic Playstation as they are meditating are the narratives.
I'm digging simple palettes these days :)

Thanks!

more fun assignments

I had a lot of fun with these and are some of my favorite works! I used the figure from the Childcraft book and collaged them with drawing, paint, and xerox transfers. The last one I cut out because I thought it was hilarious, but wouldn't have noticed it because the kid was surrounded by other kids playing in the snow. Someone hit him in the butt! FUNNYY!

I hope you all enjoy!

rich and wonky

Basically a cutout collage I made for my drawing class. The jewels are reproduced from a Childcraft Book and printed in b&w. I modified the girl from another image that I xerox transferred and the rest is just paint and ink! I dig the graphic quality and the jumble of jewels :)

thanks!

"ghost cat" photos

These were taken for my photo class. The theme for our last project had us taking "haunted" photos. I did a variety of scenes, but I really liked how some of the cats turned out.

Hope you all enjoy!

munsell color system

Here is one of my recent projects from my color theory class with Robert Meganck! Basically the project was to make an image using the Munsell color system as a map.

The cat acts as the middle of the sphere which goes from dark at the bottom to light at the top. The colors around it go from desaturated in the core to more saturated towards the surface and the top has lighter colors and the bottom has darker colors.

I thought it would be fun to show you my process of the project. I took reference photos of Ginger, the cat and I got a yarn ball off Google and just reproduced it to get the basic composition. Next I draw it then scanned it in and digitally colored it!
I know the perspective and lighting are kind of off in the final image, but I think it gets the point across.

Here is the Munsell Color System, in case you are wondering what I'm talking about! :)

Thanks!,

glass raccoon

So here is my trashy glass raccoon. I think the photos give it justice. The main reason that the butt if fur is because I didn't measure the glass correctly to the mold so it never filled all the way, hence there being no butt. I had to compensate by making it out of fur and stuffing it with paper towels.
The body of the raccoon is hollow and it was supposed to be filled with light to illuminate it, but the light I had was very BLUE and it was too unnatural and the second light source I had died right before the critique started. Bummerrr! It's ok though, at least the overhead light worked ;)
Besides that, I hope everyone's enjoying themselves as the weather gets colder, brrr!

Thanks!
